In accordance with local regulations, all businesses located in Flossmoor are required to register with the Village of Flossmoor to ensure compliance with the Flossmoor Municipal Code. The business registration program — which was approved by the Village Board of Trustees on Dec. 16, 2024 — ensures that businesses comply with zoning, building and fire code requirements. This program also allows the Village to inventory all Flossmoor businesses and to conduct public safety code-compliance inspections, as necessary; it also helps the Village identify vacancies and support marketing efforts to attract business operators to Flossmoor.
The annual business registration fee structure is:
- $100 for businesses under 5,000 square feet
- $200 for businesses over 5,000 square feet
- $50 per business if the business is located at the same address and unit number as another business. (i.e., an incubator space)
The first step to becoming a registered business is to complete the Business Registration Form (click here); forms should be returned to the Building & Zoning Department, 2800 Flossmoor Road, Flossmoor, IL 60422, or Info@Flossmoor.org. All registrations are on an annual renewal cycle running January through December.
If you have received an invoice for your business registration, you can pay in person at Village Hall (M-F 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.) or mail a payment to Village of Flossmoor, 2800 Flossmoor Road, Flossmoor, IL 60422. There is also a drop box in the east parking lot at Village Hall for payments.
Payments for 2026 are due by Friday, Feb. 13.
