Flossmoor LogoThe Village of Flossmoor prides itself on being a welcoming, beautiful and connected community for all residents and visitors, regardless of immigration or citizenship status. In 2025, federal agencies, such as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have been conducting operations within various communities throughout Chicagoland and across the nation. Regarding immigration enforcement, the Flossmoor Police Department operates under the Illinois TRUST Act (Public Act 100-463), which strictly limits how local and state law enforcement agencies interact with federal immigration authorities:

  • Flossmoor Police Officers are prohibited from detaining or arresting individuals, solely based on immigration status or an immigration detainer.
  • Flossmoor Police Officers do not participate in or assist with federal immigration enforcement operations.

The Flossmoor Police Department focuses on community safety, crime prevention, and building trust with all residents, regardless of immigration status. Our on-duty officers are easily identifiable as members of the department, as each wears an official uniform that includes the Flossmoor Police Department shoulder patch, their name displayed clearly on the uniform, and other standard insignia of rank and position. The Flossmoor Police Department remains dedicated to:

  • Protecting the safety and rights of all individuals.
  • Treating every person with dignity and professionalism.
  • Building and maintaining trust through fairness, transparency and community partnership.

If you feel unsafe or witness an emergency, always call 911. For non-emergency questions or information about local police activity, contact the Flossmoor Police Department at 708-957-4500 or Info@Flossmoor.org.
